Last updated: September 2026 · Supports the 48-hour MVP scope lead magnet
Founders who search build SaaS with Laravel or Laravel SaaS MVP often freeze on scope — everything feels “must have in Phase-1.” That is how timelines explode and estimates become fiction.
I'm Arun Tyagi. This checklist is what I use on discovery calls before quoting a lean Laravel SaaS MVP (typically ₹1.2L–₹4.5L in India). Commercial page: Laravel SaaS Development.
Phase-1 rule (print this)
Phase-1 proves one paid (or waitlisted) user journey end-to-end. Everything else is Phase-2+. If a feature is not required for that journey, it waits.
Checklist — freeze before coding
| # | Decision | Phase-1 default |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Who is the customer? | One ICP sentence |
| 2 | Organisation model | Shared DB + org scopes (not microservices) |
| 3 | Roles | Owner + member (+ admin later if needed) |
| 4 | Core loop | 5–8 screens that create value |
| 5 | Billing | Stripe or Razorpay or explicit waitlist |
| 6 | API | Sanctum only if SPA/mobile is in Phase-1 |
| 7 | Admin / ops | Password reset, user lookup, basic audit |
| 8 | Launch kit | Staging, backups, simple deploy |
Architecture context: Laravel SaaS application architecture · Is Laravel good for SaaS?.
What belongs in Phase-2 (on purpose)
- SSO / SAML / enterprise audit packs
- Marketplace two-sided flows (unless that is the core loop)
- Native mobile apps when a responsive web app proves the loop
- Database-per-tenant (unless a signed enterprise contract requires it)
- Kubernetes “from week one”
Premature scale burns runway. Most early SaaS fail on product clarity — not on server count.
Billing — don’t fake it
If Phase-1 includes paid plans, webhooks must be idempotent before you polish CSS. Checklist: Stripe & Razorpay billing checklist. If billing is deferred, say so in the quote — waitlist is a valid Phase-1.
Timeline & cost bands (India)
- API backend only: often 4–8 weeks · ₹60k–₹1.8L
- Lean multi-tenant MVP: 8–16 weeks · ₹1.2L–₹4.5L
- Marketplace / complex billing: higher — see MVP cost guide
